美國政府1日呼籲俄羅斯軍方，在對敘利亞境內執行空襲行動時，目標應針對「伊斯蘭國」(Islamic State，IS)戰士，而非反對敘利亞總統巴夏爾(Bashar Assad)的反抗軍。

美國國務卿凱瑞(John Kerry)表示：「重要的是，俄羅斯必須是針對IS，而非其它目標。」他說，對此，美國已經表達得非常清楚。

不過，對於美國協助訓練的敘利亞反抗軍如果遭俄羅斯空襲將如何因應的問題，五角大廈發言人庫克(Peter Cook)拒絕評論。他表示，這是假設性的問題。
